Martin D18 guitar # 241917
A big wide open sound emanates from this spruce and mahogany guitar. While Martins of 1968 are not usually known for their volume and projection, this guitar has had some help from some very talented guitar repairmen. Probably the most dramatic difference was the replacement of the oversized rosewood bridge plate with the thin maple plate it has now. This resulted in a D-18 that sounds more like a late ‘50s than a late 60s. In addition, a neck reset, new bridge, saddle and nut completed the makeover and turned this guitar into an ideal choice for the touring musician or the weekend jam session. One of the last guitars stamped by Martin in 1968, this D-18 still has many features consistent with factory specifications for that model and year, including mahogany back, sides, bridge and fingerboard; Sitka spruce top; Rotomatic tuners; black pick guard and bindings; 5-ply soundhole rosette. Includes new heavy duty Martin case and free shipping east of Mississippi and shared cost in other destinations, including overseas. Only $3250.Ready for this? A dream guitar for collector and player!
