2005 Martin D-28 Marquis guitar #1076152. Mint condition, original sales tags and receipt form Gruhn Guitars included in case. This custom shop Martin is based on the 1934 D28 which many consider to be the greatest Bluegrass guitar of all time. Features include Adirondack spruce top, quarter-sawn East Indian Rosewood back and sides, forward X scalloped braces, old style herringbone, zig-zag back stripe, mahogany neck in modified V with standard taper, ebony fingerboard width at nut 1 3/4” width at 12th fret 2 1/4”; string spring at bridge 2 5/16; abalone old style slotted diamond inlay, natural finish, gloss on top, back and sides, satin on neck; bone bridge pins, faux tortoise pick guard , paper label signed and dated by C.F. Martin IV. this guitar is smooth and exquisite in tone and playability and even though it is in mint condition, it has the warm, well-played sound of a guitar moving into its second decade. Our asking price, $3400, retail price at the time of original sale was $5995.
